This website seeks your support to press the government into creating compulsory National Service for young offenders and all who carry weapons.
There is only one way to stop knife & gun crime and that is to sentence anyone found carrying a knife or gun, without good reason, to five years in the army without leave. ASBO's and jail sentences are not the answer.
Jail is a waste of taxpayers money. What is needed is strict discipline & after training, five years in the trenches with somebody firing back at them.
Most of the people who carry knives and guns are basically cowards, so the very thought of being stationed in either Iraq or Afghanistan will make them think very carefully about carrying these dangerous weapons.
Here are the benefits of conscription into the army;
1) Remove the trouble makers from their mates.
2) Teach them army discipline.
3) Being away from their mates takes away their 'brag' rights.
4) After their initial training, they can do service in Iraq or Afghanistan where they will come up against the enemy who are also armed.
5) After their five years they will have sufficient training to enter into 'civy' life with qualifications.
6) After their five years they can go into society with their heads held high that they are responsible members of society and not criminals.
7) They will no longer have anything in common with their former 'hoody' friends.
8) With the penalty of National Service very few of them would have the 'guts' to carry knives and other dangerous weapons.
